Bio: As Lorna Boom was leaving her mother’s womb a gas main exploded and leveled a suburban shopping mall.
Lorna was raised on the Tulalip Indian Reservation where she developed two life-long passions; roller skating and blowing shit up. The first was developed by skating in former “”Queen of the Roller-Ball”" Grandmama Vivi’s chicken coop roller rink and the second was developed at Tulalip’s “”Boom City”" where she graduated from under-the-counter M-80′s to 1/2 sticks of dynamite by the time she was seven. Her roller skating days were postponed when she blew the back half of Grandmama Vivi’s chicken coop off.
By age 17 Lorna had experienced her fair share of scrapes with the law. Launching a neighbor’s row boat loaded with three crates of fireworks and a delayed fuse was her hippy peacenik parents’ last straw; she was emancipated and given the choice of hard time or military service. Lorna chose the Army.
Lorna’s military career was brief but productive. She became a demolitions expert and was well-schooled in the art of hand-to-hand combat. It was an explosive combination. A mealtime incident involving shit-on-a-shingle and a hand grenade led to Lorna’s less than honorable discharge and a permanent place on Fort Jackson’s wall of shame.
At loose ends Lorna resumed her skating exploits. She joined Pyromaniac Sam’s Traveling Carnival where she pioneered rocket propelled loop-the-loop freestyle skating. But it wasn’t enough. Tired of traveling from one dusty town to another Lorna Boom was planning to leave the circus with fellow carny Cherry Jubilee when they were approached by a Derby Liberation Front operative.
The Derby Liberation Front’s revolutionary agenda and opposition to the power corrupt fit in perfectly with Lorna’s own political views. That fact that these ladies wear roller skates while kicking ass sealed the deal. Today, Lorna’s cry of “”Smash the State!! Let’s blow some shit up!!”" has become a call to action.
