Seattle Derby Brats
The Seattle Derby Brats are the affiliate junior league of the Rat City Rollergirls.
From their website:
Seattle Derby Brats is the largest junior roller derby league in the Northwest. Founded in 2006, SDB began on the cutting edge of junior roller derby in the United States, and remains one of the top leagues in the country. Our programs serve girls aged 8-17, with seven teams representing four distinct levels of play. Over 100 girls from throughout the greater Puget Sound area – from Snohomish, Kirkland, Seattle, Olympia, and even Bellingham – come together for flat-track roller derby. Committed to its girls’ development, SDB accompanies them through childhood, the difficult time of adolescence, and into early adulthood.
Seattle Derby Brats empowers girls to be strong, healthy and confident. We do this through a supportive, inclusive community teaching junior roller derby. Seattle Derby Brats has a philosophy that is designed to instill positive ideals, and help young girls realize their own potential. We strive to create a safe, fun and positive environment where girls can be athletic, increase their self-confidence, obtain new friendships, while being both self-empowered and self-expressive. This is a place where girls learn teamwork, good values, discipline, confidence, interaction, and stewardship through the competitive sport of flat track roller derby.
