Captain’s Blog: Throttle Rockets Thoughts on B2
Coming off of bout 1 of the 8th season of the Rat City Rollergirls, there are definitely some things to think about. The Throttle Rockets are a great team. I LOVE my team. We’re smart, fun and give it our all. Despite our scrappiness and smart play, we came out 9 points behind the Derby Liberation Front on January 21st. It was an amazing bout. DLF has really brought their game back and they are fun to play against. But we knew going in, that we were at a bit of a handicap.
We went in to that bout with some key players injured (Hard Cora and Killah Kelly) and are really feeling the loss of 2 of our amazing jammers from last season, Valtron and Eva Dead. However, despite missing our absent teammates, our roster is jam packed with developing talent. Example: MaxMillion who won MVP in her first time ever skating at a KeyArena bout. We also saw the debut of Dawn Solo and Panda Beer on the track.
We play Grave Danger next on February 18th. A formidable team. And we’re looking forward to a great, challenging game. We know we’ve got our work cut out for us and we’re giving it all we’ve got. We will not disappoint. Not our fans, but most of all, not ourselves. We have been busting our butts bringing our strategy and team together. In bout 2 we will see the return of Killah Kelly from injury and many familiar faces such as Sirius Mischief, Missile America and Luna Negra. You may have also noticed that Primp Daddy has returned to the Throttle Rockets after taking some time to focus on the All-Star Team last season. Additionally, we are thrilled to have Wile E. Peyote join the Throttle Rockets as well. We think she looks fabulous in silver and black. But who doesn’t?
So we will continue to build the TR Machine as the season progresses. And I’ll keep you posted.
Signing off,
IRockit
